An eco adobe construction utilising the clayey soil extracted on site. This was a roof first project to ensure that the walls and the civil interiors could be constructed without fear of the upcoming monsoon.
Clay loam is an excellent building material that breathes and modifies the internal humidity to create a healthy living environment.
People often ask about the longevity of a clay loam structure; ironically an earth construction can outlast any concrete building if maintained. Concrete buildings in India have a life span of roughly 15 to 20 years, whereas an earth construction will typically last for 100 to 200 years if the walls are protected by a good roof.
